Coffee
By Gian

I never liked the taste of coffee

The way it burned my tongue

On the mornings that I dreaded waking

From distant slumber of dreams unsung

I hated all its bitterness and

the way it lingered on

In thoughts, in eyes, in quiet guys

Whose lips remained uncaressed upon

I despised the way it kept me up

staring at the darkened sky

It burned my hands, my soul, my mind

And every thought of saying goodbye

Goodbye to coffee my hated foe

It glows so full and warm

Of sweetness, life, and memories

The calm in the wake of a storm

I stare into his darkened eyes

Like the sun, unchanging

Mocha brown with sparks of honey

Speckles of gold rearranging

I sip from his lips abounding warmth

A taste bitter and sweet

His smile like gleaming caramel

Coaxing my hatred to fleet

Espresso, he was like the shot

That pierced my hardened heart

admiring my brokenness

asking how great thou art?

My coffee crashed onto the floor

A wave of disbelief

Washed over hatred, pain, and strife

That for many years had drowned me

But in that moment love awoke

With every sip, it lingers

As bitter walls begin to fall

All for the love of coffee

Coffee for the love of all

Eternal Flame
By Micah

How long have I waited

to find my ideal?

My warmth, comfort—the one,

my hearth of elated,

belated, burning zeal

You’re the end to myself

Myself’s resolve, I make

In sickness or in health

in poverty or wealth

from tempest to day-break,

Your thoughtful empathy,

Your piercing insight sees

sees my eyes, my dreams, seen,

God-sent flame of thee, you

gently kill my worries

My one and only love,

Can I ‘ternally be

forever there for you?

Who’s lovely as a dove,

who lights this fire in me.

I Will Forever Love You

Jeremiah

What’s love? How do I love? Why do I love?

While loving you it's as loving anew

Love; adore you always throughout I will

as we'll conquer life’s quandaries in concert.

However, what is love? Love’s a never

Ending struggle of utmost selflessness.

Love is the way you care and bring joy and

show kindness to every person you meet.

How do I love? Enduring all with all

I have; I love as i've seen you love—

love that is unconditional. Always

I will be there to support and protect.

To my everlasting kind-hearted love,

Lifelong friend unto death—do I love you?

How not could I. Forever we’ll be ne’er

depart, ever you’ll see into my heart.

Beyond First Sign
By Niharika

It wasn’t a bright start; we felt worlds apart,

I held my walls high, guarded tight, yet light

whispered its way into my heart, soft, still,

and you, unworried, waited as hearts always will.

We swam in gray tides, not yet yours, nor mine,

you lived out loud, I moved slow in time.

Oh, if patience bears beauty, you taught it so well,

in chuckles and letters and secrets we’d tell.

I recall us there, two hands in winter’s white fold,

the ring in your hand, a promise to hold.

For you are the warmth when the seasons chill deep,

the glow in the abyss, the heart I will keep.

Could we have known? In that flickering gray,

how stars align not all in a day?

Each moment a puzzle, a chance not yet found,

the rhythm of love, a soft, steady sound.

Like mirrors, like breath to frost on a pane,

we shift, we reflect, through joy, through pain.

Now here we are, perhaps by chance or by will,

my world grows brighter with your voice so still.

Through laughter, through tears, through every new range, (Anaphora)

I will hold you close as the seasons change.

For we are an echo of promises heard,

forever in vow, the strength of our word.

With love that knows no bounds, I give all of me,

a heart open wide, your happiness my decree.

And so, if I were a worm, I’d still long to see

you safe, fed, alive, even if not with me.

The Garden of Love
By Milind

In the center of our garden with God as our soil,

We plant two seeds joined together forevermore.

Our robust roots reach into soil

As the story of our growth sprouts to the fore.

What makes us sprout? We listen, we see,

And above all, we care. We spend our time,

Not alone but together. With care comes unity.

As the years run by, through thick and thin and high and low,

I commit to this: To grow.

We’re not without fault, but works in progress,

Growing in faith, growing in love, and growing in hope.

Here within our garden, walls strong and lifelong,

We find peace where we know we belong.

Safe in the shadows and shelter of our love,

Guarded from the world, yet free to explore.

Together we stand, strong like two trunks;

Protecting buds–new life of our own,

With roots running deep and branches growing strong,

We grow our very own garden where we belong.

A Love Like You
By Kezia

Let our love be the spark that lights the way

A burning flame that swells with each passing day

An enduring ember within the dying flame

Something only we can claim

Not just in grand moments or skies full of sun

But in life’s little things, where joy is quietly won

Through drowsy mornings and midnight talks

In snug silence and evening walks

From heavy sighs and rolling eyes

To hysteric giggles and gleeful cries

Around your finger, a circle with no end lies

A promise of my devotion, one I won’t trade for any prize

Vows become verity, embedded with grace

And grace finds a home in every embrace

Love, love—oh, sweet love—a mystery in my past

Now I find my answer in the crinkle of your eyes, at last

We live to love, and love to live

Years will pass and patience may give

Way to arduous paths, where we each may fall

Yet love remains, unbroken through it all

Through mornings, and evenings, and seasons gray

Through laughter, and silence, and words we’ll say

Love is said to be unexplainable, beyond reason or defense

Yet my love for you is no enigma; it is the only thing that makes sense

One look at you says enough

How can a person ever call my words a bluff?

Every glance, each hand held tight

Speaks what words can’t: two hearts learning love’s might

Through storms we will walk, through joys we will run

Together are we, two made into one

The memories before this day, a mere prologue, anyhow

Our story begins with a murmured vow

The calming chaos of our lives

I am eternally blessed to brave it with the best of wives

When the world—pandemonium—feels too loud and unclear

We’ll find our refuge, knowing each other is near

Like rivers finding oceans, our paths converge at last

United together, finding the missing piece of our past

We will wake the next day, the sunrise painting our future gold

In burning letters, powerful and bold

Love’s melody echoes through every space

We dance to its tune in each room, twirl in each place

In every heartbeat, a song so sweet

In every whisper, twin souls will meet

Love seems too menial a word

A poem, perhaps, too absurd

A lifetime I will spend, proving to you

Through actions, for words can be misconstrued

So now we stand, before the crowd in sight

Two hearts, one love, a spark burning bright
